Finding Form Design was founded in 2020. "Finding Form" is the name of a choreography intensive I took at Bennington College in 2006. My professional background as a choreographer and dancer, and as a writer of fiction and poetry, informs my design work in ways that guide my interests, my choices, and my aesthetic - close to living materials, aware of my forebears, and always considering movement and flexibility.
Each piece is available in a variety of wood species and leather colors. Domestic hardwoods like Oak, Cherry, and Walnut are sourced from family-owned sawmills or arborists in the Hudson Valley; imported species such as Teak or Mahogany are also available from suppliers in New York and Maine. I work exclusively with non-toxic finishes and paints.
My studio is located in the Hudson Valley, and I offer my Design + Build services throughout the area, as well as New York City.
